Securing our digital doors, and your information
Every day, we help billions of people move through a safer, more open world. The same is true whether we are talking about physical doors or digital doors.
Openings Studio is an example of a digital door. We allow architects, specification writers, owners and more into our software to collaborate on openings information. And we work very hard to ensure that it is safe, secure and protected place to go.
That’s why we’re migrating to OAuth. You may be familiar with this form of authentication, as many modern websites offer these options. If you’re not familiar with it, OAuth means Open Authorization.
It allows us to provide you access to the tools and features you love, without ever requiring you to share your password.
You may have noticed new buttons added to the login or registration screens for Apple, Google, Microsoft and Autodesk authentication.
To use one of these services, simply select your preferred provider, using the e-mail address that you registered with.
You will then be taken to the selected provider and will need to input your credentials there. For example, if you registered with firstname.lastname@example.org on Openings Studio, and you also use this same e-mail address on Autodesk, you will be able to use this to authenticate your account.
Here are some helpful tips:
Is this a permanent change?
This is considered a beta test and for now you have multiple ways of logging into Openings Studio. By the end of 2023, we will fully migrate to authenticating your login with one of these websites.
What applications does this affect?
For now, this only impacts the Openings Studio desktop application, Autodesk Revit and Graphisoft Archicad plugins. The Openings Studio mobile application does not have this yet.
What happens if I don’t have an account for one of these providers?
We recommend that you create an account with one of these providers. By the end of 2023, we will fully migrate to logging into Openings Studio this way.
Will you be using other providers?
We’re always evaluating interest in additional features and enhancements to our software. If you would like to recommend another option, please consider submitting your request to our support team.
What if I want to change my password?
If you would like to change your password through Openings Studio, you can still do so by going to Settings in the Hamburger menu and selecting Profile & Password. Select Change Password and input your new password. If you would like to change your password on any of the providers, you will need to do so on their applications.
