Note: This feature is for Specification Writers. For more information, contact your consultant.

Dropping or placing pins on doors in PDFs can be done with keyboard shortcuts.

1. Open the PDF you wish to use in the the Openings Studio PDF Editor and zoom in so you can read the text.  Use Crtl + Mouse Wheel to quickly zoom in, or use the controls under the Hand Button.

Turn on Default Search in the toolbar by clicking on it.

2. Turn on Add Pin.

3. Highlight an opening in the Door & Frame Schedule.  Make sure none of the cells in the row are active by either pressing the Esc key or click on the very end of the row on the right.  The goal is to make sure the whole row is highlighted, but none of the cells have an active cursor or a drop down open.

4. The PDF will automatically be searched for the Mark of the highlighted opening.  If multiple results are found, click the arrows next to the search box to find the correct door.

5. To engage the keyboard shortcuts, you must use either the arrows by the search in the previous step, or drop the first pin with your mouse.  So if Step Four was not needed, place the first pin by clicking on the PDF with your mouse.

6. Now you can use the up and down arrows on your keyboard to move between the openings on the schedule.  If an opening is not first found on the PDF because there are multiple results, use the left and right arrows to flip between results in the PDF.  Once you find the correct opening, press P on your keyboard to drop a pin.

7. Repeat Step 6 as many times as needed.  If you open a new PDF, begin at Step One again.
