Create custom hardware product/s
You may need to create a custom hardware item when the product is not in the price book or otherwise available.
1. Go to the Openings Screen.
2. Select either the Hardware or Products tab.
3. Click on the 
Product Search icon to bring up the Product Search screen.
4. Select the Custom tab, see Helpful Hint below.
5. Select the first empty row on the left side of the screen. Required fields are in red.
6. Select Manufacturer from drop-down and continue filling in the necessary fields to complete the row.
7. If item is electrified, use the drop down list in the Electrified column, see Note below.
8. You can also add hardware models (from the Custom Library only, not when This project is selected) and attachments.
9. Add the new custom product by clicking on the 
double arrows in the middle of the screen.
10. If you want to save the product to your Custom Library, you must click Save Custom.
Note
Electrified codes indicate that the hardware item is an electrified product. You can then use Filter by Electrified Openings option in the Door & Frame Schedule. It also allows elevation tags to be exported to Revit® floor plans when used in conjunction with security elevation drawings.
Helpful Hint!
We recommend saving to the Custom Library so that you can access the product in future projects. If you select This Project, the new custom product will only be added to the current project.
The Custom Library is accessed from the Product Search screen Custom tab.
