Automatically generate a Autodesk® Revit® door schedule with Openings Studio

You can automatically generate door schedules for existing doors in your Revit model when you export door information from Openings Studio. This is done by using a mix of Revit default parameters and custom Openings Studio shared parameters.

Note: Before creating a door schedule using Openings Studio, make sure to coordinate with your local door hardware consultant to ensure that the Openings Studio custom parameters contain accurate door data.

1. Start the process in Openings Studio. From the Door & Frame Schedule, hover your cursor above the Export icon in the menu and select Export to Revit.

2. In the Export Options tab, select the Create Revit Door Schedule option and continue with the Export Wizard.

3. Once the export has finished, you’ll see a new door schedule called AAOS Door Schedule in Revit.

Creating a door schedule this way will automatically select and apply a set of custom parameters independent of your selections in the parameter selection window.

This feature is useful if you don’t already have a door schedule in Revit or you would like to standardize parameter usage in the active project. The added custom parameters are shared parameters so you will be able to add them to your doors in any linked models. If hardware sets have been assigned to the doors, they will automatically be populated in the new door schedule.

If you would like to use your own custom parameters for door marks, dimensions (width, height & thickness), fire rating and comments, please make sure to switch them out in the newly created door schedule. Since the door schedule will list all applicable doors in your project, you will have to apply custom sorting and filtering options onto the schedule to tailor it to suit the project at hand.
