Update Openings Studio to use Azul Zulu Java

The Openings Studio™ installer now includes Azul Zulu instead of Oracle Java. This change supports organizations that are moving away from Oracle Java because of licensing or support requirements.

The change does not affect how you install or use Openings Studio.

Before you begin

  • Close Openings Studio.
  • Save any work in other applications.
  • Confirm that you have permission to install software on your computer.
  • Obtain the current Openings Studio installer for your region.

Note: Existing users do not need to reinstall Openings Studio unless they need to replace Oracle Java or are experiencing a related problem.

Update an existing installation

  1. Close Openings Studio.
  2. Open the current Openings Studio installer.
  3. Follow the installer prompts.
  4. Allow the installer to complete the Openings Studio installation or update.
  5. Open Openings Studio.
  6. Confirm that Openings Studio starts normally.

Result

Openings Studio uses the Azul Zulu Java components included with the current installer. Your normal Openings Studio workflow does not change.

Company-managed installations

If your organization distributes Openings Studio through a company software portal, provide the current installer to the team that manages the portal.

Important: Company portal administrators may need to update the packaged Openings Studio installer before users receive the Azul Zulu components.
